The students did a great job with their Nursery Rhyme dioramas. In the next post, you will see a short video of each student. It was fun watching them!

I decided to put all the videos together, so here is everyone!
Here's a sneak peek at the castles we are making to show you at Open House!
To celebrate Chinese New Year, Ms. Zhang, our ESL teacher, shared some China information with the students after her recent trip. She brought chopsticks to all the students, and helped them make these colorful dragons! We practiced addition and subtraction sentences with the iPads this week. We've been studying weather and types of precipitation. Ms. Yee did an experiment with shaving cream and food coloring, and made it "rain"!
It was tons of fun for First Graders to deliver their valentines! Their valentine pouches were bursting at the seams! Time to open them! We enjoyed heart-shaped donuts for a treat. Thank you, PTO! Time for a little brain break... we love to dance! We even played a fun hide-and-seek game called Huckle Buckle Valentine. It was a great day to celebrate with friends. Happy Valentine's Day! It was a wild and crazy day in First Grade as we celebrated the 100th day of school. Each group of students rotated through math-based centers. They were able to compare, contrast, build, balance, write, roll dice, make groups of ten and more! You'll have to ask them which was their favorite. We even had a fun 100-step walk between school landmarks today. It was nice to get a breath of fresh air and count our steps. 100th day was a blast!
