Here's a little iMovie about our Rainforest Animals. The students worked hard on their research and I am very proud of their efforts! Here's a preview of some of the rainforest animal paintings. We hope to share everything
with you this week! We were so excited to check out our worms this week! Some of them had eaten A LOT of the compost material and were huge! These scientists were great at observing these living organisms. We even had a special visit from some of our Kindergarten friends, Mrs. Wood, Ms. Elkins,
and Mrs. Gunderson. They wanted to see what the commotion was about! This week we spent time examining seeds before we planted some of our own. We also prepared for the arrival of our worms. We love spring! Now, it's time to plant some seeds of our own. We'll be growing green beans. We also discussed what it means to have compost material. We chopped up fruit, vegetables and leaves to make a delicious meal for our worms! Here are a few things we did that are displayed in the hallway.
Ms. Zhang arrived today with these! Eggs! We had a class "egg" hunt and emptied them to find pictures of things. Each table sorted them into 2 piles: things found in the garden, and things not found in the garden. It was a very special event! Ms. Yee and I hid the eggs around the classroom. Ms. Zhang took the students away to read a book while the eggs found a hiding place. Can you see any of the eggs? Ready, set, go! We did a writing activity after the "hunt", and I think this student summed it up best by showing how he felt when he found an egg!
