We have been under the sea for a week! We enjoyed so many great stories this week and made some awesome projects! These are activities done after reading The Rainbow Fish and A House For Hermit Crab. We practiced retelling the story of The Rainbow Fish with puppets. We made some cool non-fiction ocean books with information about different animals. After learning about tide pools, we made our own! Aren't they fantastic?! We finished the week by making an "ocean in a bottle." What a fun week!
As we learned about non-standard measurement this week, we measured our feet against a size 23 shoe size of professional basketball player Shaquille O'Neal. We learned about some of our National Symbols this week. Our hallway looks colorful! Congratulations to all of our Texas Readers! We enjoyed the party on Bubble Day!
We loved learning about the rainforest. Each student chose an animal and worked with a friend to do research. They did a terrific job! It was a bit hard to capture all the writing in pictures, but they'll be bringing them home soon! We had fun reading to each other from our poetry journals. Our principal, Mrs. Dow, stopped by for a visit!
