We have been so excited to watch the Decorah, Iowa bald eagle nest. This week, all 3 eggs hatched! We check on them during the day to see what Dad has brought to the nest and what the little hatchlings are doing. It is so exciting. Here's the website again if you want to take a look: http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles

We have been practicing our doubles facts in math. When someone asked about where they could find the catchy songs we've been singing, a couple of students said, "put it on the blog!". It just cracked me up. :) They are really bonding with technology! We observed some Highlands' soil and learned that it can contain sand, clay, sticks, plants, rocks, leaves, small bugs and more. Today, we looked at different kinds of rocks and observed the minerals inside them. We are pretty great scientists!
Spring Break was a great time to visit the livestock at the fabulous Houston Rodeo. Hope you enjoy the show! The Houston Rodeo! on PhotoPeach
We are enjoying the penguins at SeaWorld in San Diego. The Discovery Channel is doing a new series called Frozen Planet (which airs March 18) and they are featuring these penguins. They currently have nearly 300 penguins (5 different species). We check on them periodically throughout the day. Feeding time is especially hilarious! The website is: http://www.ustream.tv/penguincam
Mrs. Garvin loves to sing and dance with our class. Her favorite song is "Boogie Oogie Oogie" to shake out our wigglies. Everyone has a great time dancing!
The Children's Museum of Houston has a lot to offer. There are so many areas to explore and enjoy. Here are just a few of the things we did. Thank you so much to the chaperones that went with us! The students did an excellent job with their dioramas of a favorite nursery rhyme! I have lots of pictures to share, but I also recorded a few of them. Take a look!
Here we are at the FLOW WORKS at the Children's Museum. We had a blast playing in the water!
