Are you enjoying your winter break? We are! Here is a photo of us on Christmas Day. We had some exciting news right before Christmas....my son Conrad is engaged to be married next summer! Scottie has been home with me, just hanging out with the other dogs and relaxing. See you soon!

Pajama Day was a lot of fun! We drank hot cocoa and watched Polar Express. Thank you, PTO, for providing the pizza and cookies for our Winter Party. Thank you to our parents for providing frosting, sprinkles, drinks and paper goods. We had a lot of fun doing the book exchange, decorating cookies and playing holiday bingo.
Here is a movie with all of the nocturnal animal reports and drawings. Enjoy!
Here is a peek at our big gingerbread house. My husband constructs the frame and then our family and friends fill in the sides with lots of icing and candy! We will enjoy the lovely sight (and smell!) of the house this week, then we will donate it to Texas Children's Hospital. This is a 14-year tradition.
As 2012 winds down, we are keeping busy with our units on Nocturnal Animals, Objects in the sky and Holidays around the world. We also had 2 videoconferences this week (one with Santa, and one with the Fort Worth Zoo). We are always looking for ways to practice our math skills. The students had fun with dice and were highly engaged when writing their math facts. |
AuthorI am a retired First Grade teacher in Texas. I have two children, two daughters-in-law, a grandson and granddaughter. Our beloved pup, Rocco, went to heaven this year. He was 15 years old. I've been married 37 years. I would love to hear from any former students! Archives
