We finished our fun Tacky the Penguin series. We wrote letters to the author to thank her, and give her some new ideas! This week, we had a videoconference with our friends in Glacier Bay, Alaska. The park rangers took us on a virtual kayak trip to see some exciting Arctic wildlife and scenery! The students took an "oath" to be good Junior Park Rangers, and to help take care of our national parks and animals. In math, we did a skip counting activity with materials in the classroom. Some of the groups had over 500 things! We are enjoying lots of fairy tales. We made some puppets to retell the story of Little Red Riding Hood. I wish I'd recorded the reenactment of Jack and the Beanstalk. It was hilarious! We had 2 students for each part. Here are the 2 "Jacks" giving magic beans to their mothers. We've been studying weather all week. Here is an experiment to represent how rain gets heavy and falls from the clouds. They enjoyed making some puffy cloud pictures. Our Valentine's Day bags are ready! See you at the party next week!
