We finished several units this week, as we prepared for Open House and Spring Break. We finished our Object in the Sky unit with a little taste test, just like we were astronauts. We put a little water on our "freeze dried ice cream" and enjoyed the experiment! We stared at the ceiling after the "star machine" created costellations. We had fun with some legends and Tall Tales this week. We wrote about Paul Bunyan, and painted Texas sunsets after reading The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush. We read The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors just for fun, then had a class tournament. These were the final two competitors! We wrapped up our study of fairy tales with these amazing castles! Each student wrote a biography this week. Their books featured a familiar character. Sharing is always the best part! Leprechaun traps were the order of the day after reading this book. We had a blast, jumping for an hour during our fundraiser. Thank you to everyone that donated! And just like that...we are off to Spring Break! Yahoo! I have Scottie this week, so here's a sneak peek at our first fun activity -- THE RODEO! The next post you see below is our "sideways" video of all students showing their dioramas. It's adorable, so take a look!
