So, our experiment involved highlighter markers, eggs, and vinegar. We hoped the end result would be eggs that glowed and bounced. We created our mixture and gently placed the raw eggs inside. Then, we waited for 3 days. The students observed that the eggshells began to bubble almost immediately. After 3 days, the eggs were huge! They discovered that the shells were gone, and the highlighter ink made its way through the egg membrane. We put the eggs under a black light, and discovered that they GLOWED! We went outside to test their ability to bounce. The egg failed from about 4 feet, but we found success from about 2 feet. Cool experiment! This week we learned about tide pools, and created some of our own, along with an ocean in a bottle. We reflected on our fantastic year and shared some memories. Field Day! ...the photo bombers were everywhere... First Grade Friends! Waiting to take a picture of all the Scotties... Time to get some lunch! We enjoyed a high energy hip hop dance program. Field Day was great fun! Time to relax with popcorn and a movie...
