Igloos, Arctic animals books, 3-D shapes, Tooth Fairy traps, Cafe of Learning Curriculum Night2/3/2018 We embraced the Arctic this week. Here are some of our Inuit (Eskimo) dolls, and igloos. There was excitement in the air as we built our Arctic village! Each team designed their igloo and made a team flag. A few lights made the whole scene very beautiful. We completed these original books about Arctic animals. The best part is always sharing with friends! In Math this week, we studied 3-D solid shapes. First, the students built figures with straws. Next, we searched for examples of our shapes in magazines. Going on a "Shape Walk" with our iPads was a wonderful end to the day! Each team recorded examples, and then we shared. Creating shapes with paper was the most fun of all! Another creative activity this week was building "traps" for the tooth fairy. They really used their imaginations! I love how interested they are in hearing from each team about their trap. Thanks to those that were able to make it to our Cafe of Learning on Tuesday night! We finished our classroom map this week. They added details and could have kept going on this!
