Sometimes we have free play time at math boxes to explore and create. The students love using their imaginations to problem solve and process concepts we have learned. When building with geoblocks, one student told me that she was making a ship to hold the Pilgrims. Cracked me up! These students made long trains of unifix cubes. They were going to count them, and one said, "hey, if we count by tens, it would go a lot faster." Exactly!! So here are their groups of tens. We had a few extra minutes on Friday and decided to play a little Sight Word Bingo. They are getting better at recognizing their words!
