Whew, what a week!
As our rainforest unit came to a close, we focused on completing our poetry books in preparation for the Poetry Party. Each student ended up with about 20 original poems. Fantastic! We practiced reading our poems to each other. Then, we got ready to head to 4th grade to read to students in Mrs. Culberson's class. I was happy to see some former students! We later sent Mrs. Culberson's class a thank you note, along with some encouragement for STAAR testing. It's finally time to welcome our guests to the Poetry Party! It was great to have such an interested audience! Thank you for coming. :) We were happy that some of the Highlands staff could join us. Even Mr. Koski and my daughter showed up to read with students. Finally, it's time to dig into those snacks! Another big activity this week was our Texas Readers celebration. We began the day with an awesome magician. Later, we had popsicles and bubbles.
Whew, what a week!
