We began our Color Unit with reading some books focusing on red and yellow. The Red Wagon allowed the students to think of what they could do with one. The students had fun using their scientific senses to sort red things. They came up with some very good sorting rules! Acting out The Little Red Hen brought a lot of laughs. :) On Red Day, we got to meet a cool author, Chris Barton. In Science, we have learned so much about Objects in the Sky. We took a little time to draw our own constellations. There were squeals of delight when I turned on my "star machine" and they were mesmerized by the effect on the ceiling. We are having fun in First Grade! On Yellow Day, we read Press Here. It is a fun, interactive story with lots of action created by the reader. The students made their own versions and shared with friends. Look at the giggles! They loved it!
