& Dr. Seuss's Birthday!
We've been studying weather and the seasons. We also know that an author sometimes writes to persuade someone else. We combined these concepts to convince our classmates about which season is the best. We put all of our planets in order! In math, we practiced ordering 3 numbers. It was our week to do the pledges on the morning announcements. The Scottie News Network was looking pretty good! Field Trip! We got our final instructions before enjoying all of the fun activities at the Children's Museum. Thank you, chaperones, for going with us! Then we were off to the park while I still had a teeny bit of battery life in my phone! Read Across America Day & Dr. Seuss's Birthday! Our principal, Mrs. Dow, came by to thank the students for their wonderful letters. One of their homework assignments was to write a letter to her, telling her what we like about Highlands. She LOVED them! Our special guest reader was Andre Ware, a Heisman Trophy winner (1989) for the University of Houston. We even practiced the "Heisman pose" before the assembly. GO COOGS!
