It has been a spooky week with lots of learning about spiders! We did some non-fiction writing about spiders, and made these awesome creative spiders using adjectives. All week we worked on writing a book about a small moment in our lives. The students had so much fun sharing them! Some of the other first grade teachers invited our students to visit with our anchor chart and their books for a book reading. In Science, we continued our studies about forms of energy. We used our hands to melt ice to demonstrate heat energy, then observed a transfer of cold and hot water. Our music teacher let us borrow some instruments to experiment with vibrations from sound. The only directions for this activity: create something that makes sound. They had so much fun! We also had fun with some math and reading activities this week. Look below for some spider facts from our students!
