The Valentine pouches were stuffed and ready for us to enjoy! First, we did some measuring and writing activities. We did a little building competition with our candy hearts. Time to open the valentines and have a party! We had fun playing Huckle Buckle Valentine. We continued our Fairy Tale unit, acting out the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There are so many different variations of this story! Working in groups, we identified the main idea in each story. In Science, we did a few activities involving force and motion. We compared the time required to run, hop, skip, crab walk and more. We learned about ramps and acceleration. We worked in teams to build ramps and test the cars. We also tested the force of magnets, and determined which materials would attach to a magnet.

Thanks for the great ideas I can use in my classroom. I struggle with teaching science, so I loved the idea of having students build a ramp and use cars to explore force and motion. In the past, I have used marble towers, but the marbles always get lost. Thanks for the great idea!
