Ms. Karen, with the NASA Langley Research Center (Washington, DC) conducted a videoconference with our class today. We impressed her with our current knowledge of the sun and the solar system. She had the students first draw the sun as they imagined it to be. Then after an interesting discussion about what made a rainbow, she was able to direct the students to color the sun with different colors. We also added sunspots, solar flares, the corona, and some solar wind. As you can see from the photos, the students were highly engaged and interested!
